What’s in my bag?

I shoot with all Canon Professional Equipment, Profoto Strobes, Creative Light Modifiers, Manfrotto support systems and I carry it all in Think Tank cases and packs.

Cameras

My workhorse camera that is great for everything from sports to portraits is the Canon 1D Mark IV
I absolutely love this camera with 45 focus points, super fast 10 frames per second and 1.3 crop sensor it is the perfect all around camera.

My second body is the
Canon 5D Mark II

This is a full frame camera but much smaller than the Mark IV. I use it primarily when I want a smaller camera hanging around my neck or when taking group photos. It is lacking on focus points and is much slower than the Mark IV so is primarily a backup for me when not shooting large groups. This one will be gone as soon as I can get my hands on a 1DX.

When I cover events that require multiple shooters my requirements will exceed that of any venue and any other photography company for that matter! For example, for hockey tournaments I make sure my photographers can shoot comfortably at 3200 ISO and I prefer pro series bodies, 1D Mark IV bodies for Canon (minimum 7D) and D3 for Nikon (minimum d700) and a 300mm f/2.8 lens (minimum 200mm f/2.8) for action and a wide angle for team celebration shots.

Lenses

If I can get away with it I like to shoot one of my prime lenses (no zoom), for sports I use the 300mm and I use the 35mm and 50mm for portraits and events, for just about everything else I use the 70-200 or 24-105.

I also often use the 400 2.8, 85 1.2, 14 2.8, 24-70 2.8 and 16-35 2.8 lenses when what I have doesn’t work the situation and am always open to renting/borrowing if something else is required.

Light

For my portable flashes I have several

But for my strobes I use all Profoto gear and large softboxes. I currently have a several 600 watt wireless strobes.
